School's out!
I'm so proud of my boys and how well they transitioned to their new school. They really had a great year. We have enjoyed our first year at Wiggins Street. The boys have been given so many great opportunities to experience hands-on, interactive learning this year. Trey didn't just learn about Africa...he participated in a play and a musical about Africa, and much of the music was Ghanaian folk music. He also helped with a bake sale to raise money for children in Africa and did a report and presentation on the African rainforests. This is just one example...it has really been a great year. And now we are looking forward to a great summer! The last two summers have been full of transition...pregnancy, new baby, moving...just ready for a nice summer this year.
Trey's award from his teacher..."Mr. Figure It Out"
Riley's award from his teacher..."Neatest Third Grader" (she's never seen his bedroom)
We also celebrated Evan's birthday this morning, even though his birthday is actually tomorrow. He and his brothers have just left to spend a few days with Mimi, Pop Pop, GG and Grandma Jan, so we had to have his giant pancake breakfast this morning. We'll keep celebrating all the way through June at parties with friends and family. I really can't believe he's 5. The other night he slept in my bed because his daddy was out of town. I woke up to see his bright eyes and his little hand on my face. He said, "Mommy, you're so pretty." Then he jumped up in his Batman jammies and said, "And do you think I'm handsome!". I absolutely adore this child. He's a little pip squeak, and he's so full of life. My sweet, sweet boy...I love you so much.
MY HUSBAND IS FLYING HOME RIGHT NOW! He has a super busy rest of the week and will be working most of the time, but at least he'll be back in Ohio!
