Cora has a sinus infection and Dr. Hornstein prescribed the nastiest tasting antibiotic possible.  Unfortunately she's allergic to amoxicillin, the yummy bubble gum stuff.  Day 3 and I'm pretty sure she's taken about half of one dose.  She spits it everywhere...usually all over me.  Today I called the doctor's office to see what we should do.  Their answer...chocolate pudding.  Really? Is this a normal part of a toddler's diet? I explained that she has never had pudding and that I do not have any pudding in the house.  They said it was the only thing that was strong enough to cover up the taste and to call them tomorrow after I tried chocolate pudding.

There was no way I was going to the store to buy instant crap in a box and give it to my almost two year old.  But, chocolate pudding from scratch did start to sound pretty good.  Out came my Better Homes and Garden cookbook.  The Hartzler Dairy whole milk, real butter, real sugar, Frontier organic cocoa, cornstarch, and vanilla all went into my saucepan and 45 minutes later the rich chocolate goodness was ready to chill in the fridge.  Wow...this is pudding, friends.  Then I ruined it by adding a teaspoon of Omnicef to Cora's.  Guess what, she spit it everywhere.  She's not stupid.  So, she still hasn't taken a real dose of her medicine, but the rest of us had some amazing dessert tonight!
