It's back to school week, which means it's time to write my back to school resolutions for this year. I read in my blog archives my resolutions for last school year. I had six goals for last year. Two of them were complete failures! Three were successfully completed and on one of them there is room for improvement. Not too bad I guess. Here are my resolutions for this year.

1. Pack lunches the night before! My husband has been telling me for years now that he will help me with this and that it will drastically improve the peace for our mornings. I have known that he is right, but I really run out of steam after the kids are in bed. This is the year it's going to happen!

2. New homework center for boys. One of our resolutions for last year was to have homework done every day before dinner. We did this almost every day. However, doing homework at the kitchen table with the two littles running around watching PBS and eating snack did not work. Way too many distractions for Riley and Trey, who now have a significant amount of homework each night. So, I have purchased lap desks and school boxes which I loaded up with homework supplies for the two older boys. They have assigned spots upstairs, away from their younger siblings, to do their homework after school. This is a complete experiment and we'll see how it works. According to Better Homes and Gardens it's going to work fabulously!

3. Food prep on Sunday nights. This one is going to be difficult, but I know it would help and it's another thing my husband has offered to help me with in the past. I want to prep food for the week on Sunday nights...cut up fruit, make granola, bake bread or muffins, etc.

4. Pay preschool tuition early so it doesn't sneak up on me. This is one of the few bills I am responsible for because it gets dropped off at preschool. This was a resolution from last year and I failed big time. I have some kind of mental block when it comes to preschool tuition...I have had this problem since Riley was three.

5. Adding breakfast and after school snacks to weekly meal plan.

Two more days of summer and then back to school!
