Well, it was finally our turn. We have had a very healthy winter so I guess it's only fair that we should have to deal with at least one sick week. Trey and Evan had strep throat. By yesterday afternoon I was done, so tired of it all. It was just such a strange week. In the midst of it all we've be dealing with a lot of adoption stuff...it's all just been too much. Luckily, last night was girl's night with my Grandview friends and a little tequila can make everything better, at least for the moment. Then today we were STILL stuck at home. It was so windy and rainy, plus runny noses...I decided to play it safe and make them rest again. They need to get out of the house. By bedtime tonight it was just not fun around here at all.
The good news is we're loading everyone in the van tomorrow and we're leaving to visit some very good friends. We can relax so easily with them and love being in their home. I laugh harder with them than with anyone else I know. You see, they've seen the ugliest side of me, but they decided to love me anyway. That makes a good friend, when friendship becomes a deliberate choice. It will be good to get away, to catch up with their lives, eat good food, and simply laugh and relax.
I posted an update on our adoption blog as well. Unless you know our situation well, it might not seem like that big of a deal. But, it's been a pretty huge week in world of Liberian adoptions.
