Just blogging to relieve a bit of built up stress right now, might be a string of completely random thoughts...

So, I've spent the better part of two days trying to fight for my kid in Africa one email at a time. TV has become my diversion, how unhealthy is that. American Idol is on tonight so that'll help with the tension I'm storing in my body from today's fight. American Idol, what? Now you have proof that I'm losing it. The Big Ten Tournament and March Madness start soon though. I heard a rumor on Sunday that March Madness was on ESPN this year and I almost had a nervous breakdown. My digital converter box isn't going to pick up ESPN. Never fear though, it's on CBS. There's no better programming all year.

Trying to balance letting God fight for me and being proactive at the same time. No one else seems to care about this kiddo like I do, so I feel like I have to do something. How does Lent play into all of this, what should be my diversion during this season.

"I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Churh, to the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance, by prayer, fasting and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God's holy Word. And, to make the right beginning of repentance, and as a mark of our mortal nature, let us now kneel before the Lord, our maker and redeemer."

"Almighty God, you have created us out of the dust of the earth: Grant that these ashes may be to us a sign of our mortality and penitence, that we may remember that it only by your gracious gift that we are given everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Savior."
