It was a good weekend. First, we celebrated a big anniversary this weekend...my brother has been sober for ONE YEAR!!! His wife and my parents planned a surprise party for him on Saturday afternoon. It was at the bowling alley, so of course the boys had a blast. My brother is happy. We've waited so long for this. I'm so very proud of him.
My favorite part of the weekend is in the picture above. On our way home from the party Saturday Evan and Trey fell asleep in the car. Riley was still wide awake and thought it would be a good idea to spend some time with my oldest boy. Riley and I love Buckeye basketball. Unfortunately, we don't have cable so we miss a lot of games. But, Riley really understands the game and can follow play by play on the radio. So, we turned off the lights, lit a few candles, grabbed the brownies from the kitchen and settled in my bed to listen to the game. It was so simple, peaceful, and FUN! Riley fell asleep during half time, but I listened to the second half and cheered quietly as the Buckeye pulled out a win over Minnesota!

Sounds like a wonderful evening! Congrats also to your brother--that's gotta be tough, and his courage is commendable.
Miss you guys...

good thing you didn't try to go down to the game, it was sold out. Sounds like you made some memories that are worth far more than a seat at the basketball game.
