It's January 5th. It's time to get back to a normal routine after the holidays. Usually I'm really looking forward to settling in after the holidays and returning to our schedule. This year feels a little different. I was sad to see my boys leave for school this morning. We had a really great break and I wasn't ready to see it end. But, it's time and honestly my house can't handle much more Christmas break laziness. It's a mess around here! I've spent the morning mopping and scrubbing, with plenty more to do later tonight. The highlights of our break were...

--A great trip to the Conservatory to see the Christmas decorations and the ginger bread house display.

--Going to see Four Christmas' with my parents, my brother, his wife, and Eric. Any trip to the movie theater is fun, and this movie was just what I needed that night. I laughed hard.

--Christmas Eve service at St. John's. Trey and Riley were shepherds in the nativity this year. I have to post pictures from my mom's camera soon. Riley was the perfect shepherd and took his role quite seriously. Trey was tired after a big day of Christmas Eve activities and decided that it would be good to take a rest on stage while the scripture was read. Really, words can not describe my five year old's performance, but it was a classic Trey moment that will go down in Stetler family history.

--Christmas morning with our boys. They loved their books from mommy and daddy and Santa managed to come up with that one present each of them had wanted. They also opened a baby doll for their new sister, Nana.

--Christmas day at Nanna and Papaw's. (Notice Nanna's new spelling to avoid confusion in the future). It was a very relaxing day. Nanna and Papaw work very hard to make Christmas Day so special for everyone.

--A trip to see the Buckeye's play with my husband. I LOVE college basketball and Eric and I rarely get to go together. Thanks mom and dad!

--Fort Rapids over New Year's with Mimi, Pop Pop, and the rest of the Stetler gang. The boys had a blast at the water park this year! They were completely exhausted after three days of non-stop fun. It was a great time with family and a great gift from Mimi and Pop Pop.

There was also a trip to Galaxy Games, a trip to COSI and a lot of lazy time at home in jammies. A very good break for all of us!

Of course the very best part of our break was the news we received on the 23rd that we are now moving forward with Nana's adoption. I'm going into full nesting mode now and am probably already driving my husband crazy with my lists of things that need done in the next couple of months.

Time to get off the computer...the five year old is not happy with the smell of the two year old's diaper. They are also beating the crap out of something with a play sword. I better go check out the destruction.
