This morning at breakfast Trey called me over. His eyes were still sleepy and he was wearing his brother's spider man robe. He said he needed to tell me something. It seemed as though what he needed to tell me was really important, so I got on my knees to listen. He said, "Mommy I have a light that never burns out. Jesus gave it to me." I'm so glad I took the time to really listen because the look on his face when he told me was something I never want to forget. He said Ms. Becky taught him about being a light in Sunday School. Ms. Becky is in her 60's and she loves to love on kids at St. John's. She is a joy to see each week. Riley looked at me next and said, "I can't wait for next Sunday because it's the birthday of the church!" Last week was Ascension Sunday and this Sunday we will celebrate Pentecost. I love seeing my boys get excited about celebrating the church calendar. Because the church I grew up in didn't focus on the church calendar, I'm really enjoying learning with them.
