Evan is an extremely funny little guy. He is FULL of personality. He loves going to church on Wednesday nights because he doesn't have to sit still and can go up front and sing with Pastor LeeAnn. Our church is just across the street, a very busy street, from our house. On Monday we were having a playdate with some friends in the back yard. Evan was playing quietly with some sand. Somehow he managed to quietly slip past three adults and wander out front. I soon noticed he wasn't in the sand anymore and I ran out front (yes, grandparents, we are putting up a gate SOON!). A neighbor was walking him back down the sidewalk to our house. I thanked our neighbor over and over again, and then asked Evan where he was going. He just put up his little finger, which is how he tells us he wants to sing "This Little Light of Mine." Then he pointed to the church. He was on his way to church! Obviously, I've been watching him a little more carefully in the back yard. Two times yesterday I could tell he was about to run. I let him, and followed a few feet behind him. Both times, he was headed to church, marching down the side walk with his little finger up in the air. The second time he ran inside first to get his hat before he left!
He also doesn't talk very much. He has about 15 words that he says over and over again. So, I was very excited this morning when I asked him if he wanted syrup on his waffle and he very clearly looked at me and said, "Yes, please." He even used his manners! Really, we have our hands full with this little guy!
