This winter continues to dump more sickness on our family. We're all really tired of fighting stuff and are counting the days until spring and warmer weather. I've had a sinus infection all week. Luckily I was able to call my mom in for emergency back up assistance. Eric was a lot of help too, but he can only take so much time off from school work. Three days of fever, chills, stuffy nose, and a nasty cough before I was able to get into the doctor and get some amoxicillin. Trey had the same thing, plus an ear infection. Evan's been on breathing treatments for over a week and is now on an antibiotic as well for an ear infection. Evan and I are feeling much better, we're hoping Trey starts to improve a little more quickly this week. Riley and Trey were at my mom's last night. We'll be picking up Riley as soon as he wakes up and taking him to urgent care because he woke up in the middle of the night screaming that his ear hurts.
Our basement is flooding from all the melting snow and rain. So, not only are we stuck sick inside, but we're stuck inside with a musty smell and unable to play in the playroom. Our apartment is small enough as it is, but take away the playroom and we're really all on top of each other. Our landlord seems to want to only manage the problem, not actually fix it.
Enough of all that...onto the good news in our life. The house we are buying in Franklinton is being fully renovated and should be completed around May 30th! It has been torn down to the studs and now they are starting over inside. The location is absolutely perfect. I really like the street it's on and it's so close to the hospital and nursing school for Eric. I'm so excited. I really never would have imagined last year this time that I would be saying I'm so excited to move from Grandview to Franklinton. Funny how quickly things change. I'm ready to start living life with my family there.
Eric is turning 30 this weekend. We were able to get away a little last night with the help of my mom and Kelly. I told him at dinner last night that I was 17 when we went on our first date. Putting it that way made it feel like we are really getting old! I love him so much.
Evan slept 8 1/2 hours last night in his own bed! That's really exciting news around our house. As soon as he's healthy he starts sleeping better again. If we can keep him healthy this time we might actually all start getting some decent sleep. He's really cute right now. He just giggles all the time. He loves music. We had a dance party yesterday with Ray Charles.
Two big applications were turned in this week. First, Eric completed his application for the College of Nursing and turned it in yesterday. He's registered for three more prerequisite classes at Columbus State this spring. His winter quarter is almost over and he's doing so well. I turned in my school lottery application for Riley's kindergarten next year. This has been an agonizing process for me. It has consumed my thoughts and a lot of my time. I had one final school visit this week and I think I feel good about my options. We should get initial results next month.
Oh Kerri. I will be praying for all of you to get (and stay) completely well!

Praying that you all feel better soon. Spring is just around the corner and I can't wait.
Glad to hear that some answers are coming for your housing and Riley's schooling. I am sure it is a big relief to have his application done and am certain you made the right choices.
Love you,
Becky
