I woke up dreading the day I had ahead of me. Some serious lack of sleep was playing into my bad mood. I was tired, to say the least, and Eric had plans from 8:30am until late into the night. Evan was having some stomach issues. So, he was fussy and messy and I really didn't think it was a good idea to run around all day with him. All of this added up to a long day at home alone with three little boys. I decided in the shower that I only had one option. It was time to snap out of it and decide to enjoy the day. I struggle with stuff like this, but I really didn't have a choice. So, I threw my kids a party. A buckeye pizza party. We ordered pizza, ate organic gummy bears, popped popcorn and made hot chocolate. We watched the game together and did puzzles on the floor. The boys thought it was a great idea and decided we should tie balloons onto the banister in the basement so that if anyone came over they would know where the party was happening. Some day they won't be so easily fooled, but today it worked and they really thought that we were having a special party. I was worried the evening might drag along after the game, but the sun came out and Lianne came over. We played outside and the boys were able to eat their dinner on the swing set because it was so warm. So, it was a pretty great day after all. Now if I can just get a little more sleep tonight...

My friend Corbin asked me a great question last week. If you know Corbin, you know he's really good at asking great questions. He asked what I was looking forward to. I've been thinking a lot about his question and decided to list my answers here, in no particular order.
1. SPRING...days like today give me hope that it might be spring soon.
2. Eric's grandparents are moving to Ohio. Soon my boys will have the chance to see two sets of great-grandparents on a regular basis. Not many little boys are that lucky.
3. The beach...my parents booked the house this week. I've already started dreaming about lazy days by the ocean.
4. March Maddness. Thanks to my awesome dad, we have tickets to the first round this year. I'm really excited!
5. My 30th birthday. Mom and I are going to NYC to see Grease on Broadway!
6. A child-free trip with my very special friend Becky Nicole sometime this summer. Becky, I think we deserve to celebrate "30" in a big way. Let's start thinking and planning!
7. Moving to Franklinton.
8. Summer fun--the zoo, the pool, picnics...

Goodnight.

You are such a great mom, planning fun to push back the dread. It makes a difference.

By the way, I know your boys love Maurice Sendak... do you have "Pierre: A Cautionary Tale in Five Chapters and a Prologue"?
