Yesterday I spent sometime with Joy and Jennifer. I had been distracting myself for about a week, but yesterday I really felt like I needed to spend a little time with them. They were by themselves sorting through Luis' artwork and school papers for scrapbooks. Joy has so many questions, I have very few answers. But, I think it was good to just question with her instead of trying to give feel good answers. Some of the heaviness has returned today, but I think it needs to. We talked at our gathering last night about the importance of suffering with them, true compassion. Pray for them throughout the day today. Jennifer is going back to school, which will be difficult I'm sure. It also means that Joy will be alone some today. Pray for us on Friday. We are taking dinner over and eating with them.
The baby has become very active, which is a lot of fun. Next week marks the half way point, but here's the news for week 19...
Your baby's movements are stronger and more coordinated because her nervous system is now more sophisticated. The first strand of hair will begin to grow on her head. Your baby will begin to recognize your voice and may respond to loud noises or music by making jerky movements possibly showing that whatever she is hearing is too loud and frightening. She will also feel your touch when you massage your abdomen. Your baby now sleeps and wakes at regular intervals and has started to exercise her lungs and practice her breathing techniques.
This explains why the baby was so active during the OSU-Michigan St. game, I was scaring the little one! Tonight I'm actually going to the game with my dad. I better try to control myself.
