By the request of an anonymous commenter, here are the complete lyrics for Because God's Good by the Martins. I'm surprised I haven't worn out this cd. There have been times over the last four years of my life when I have literally listened to this song on repeat for hours...when daddy lost his job, Mike's first accident, after coming home from Doug and Amanda's hearing, when we found out Palmer had cancer...this song instantly triggers memories of God's faithfulness in my life and in the lives of my family.
This ol' world gets ya down
If you're doin' too much lookin' at the sin and sorrow goin' around
Don't it make you want to cry
Well I've cried some myself
And I've learned a little lesson how to set my sights on something else
I wouldn't tell you no lie
I could worry and pout in the shadow of doubt
But I'm runnin' out of reasons why
Because God's good, so good
Absolutely, positively, definitely
Nothing but good to me and you
On my baddest bad day or my deepest dark night
I know that everything is going to be alright
Because God's good
Oh yes He is
When it's hard when it hurts
When it's getting so confusing you don't even know which came first
Was it the clouds or the rain
He is strong when we're not
He's forgiving when we stumble, never ending love no matter what
And He ain't fixin' to change
You say "Is He aware and does He even care"
I say "Yes He is and Yes He does"
'Cause He's so good.
On the road with my brother yesterday. He can drive again, so he drove me to Cleveland. Absolutely no luck at selling any furniture what so ever, but a good day with my brother. He surprised me quite a few times with moments of extreme maturity. He also told me some of his story from his journey over the last few years through music on the ride up there. He'd give me a little background and then play me a song. It was good. He's asked me some questions, I asked him some questions. It was good. The boys had their "daddy day." They were very excited. Eric took them to one of the free summer kids movies at the Lennox. It was Trey's first trip to the movies. Time to get moving...
O.K. I want to know who the closet gospel fan is!! Thanks for being such a good sister, Kerri!
