Today the boys and I met my friend Amy and her two boys at Slate Run Metro Park. What a perfect spring day! We saw all of the new baby animals--lambs, piglets--and some really big horses and cows as well. I think Trey liked the turkeys the best. Riley liked the baby lamb. There was a woman carrying around this little lamb that was born last week and my favorite part of the day was when Riley yelled, "Mommy, look! It's Mary with her little lamb!" The sheep were getting their hair cut today, but that was a pretty disturbing experience and we didn't stick around to watch. Riley took a hard fall in the mud and Trey fell off a tractor, but still a great day at the farm.
We drove home with the windows down and stopped at McDonalds for ice cream. The sun felt so good. I think 72 degrees is the perfect temperature. Tonight we headed to the park in the wagon with Jen and then to Old Bag of Nails for dinner. It's possible that the boys were the dirtiest they've ever been. I think we tried to squeeze an entire spring into one day. You almost have to when you get a day like this in Ohio, it might not come again for a long time!
At McDonalds I took a few work phone calls while the kids ate their cones. It made me so thankful for the opportunity my dad has given to work from home with flexible hours. My parents are in Florida for the week and I'm really missing them. It's a little strange not having them around. I usually see them a few times every week. Tomorrow Trey and I are hanging out with my grandma, I'm sure she misses my parents too. Riley is leaving for Canton tomorrow to stay with Eric's parents for a couple of days since he is on spring break this week. I'll miss him, but it will be good to have more focused time to spend with Trey.
I think we finally have everything taken care of with the new car and will be returning Eric's parents van to them tomorrow. So, I'll be heading out in the big Park Avenue beginning tomorrow...Eric wants to get dice to hang in the window. He thinks he's funny.
This may be the longest post I've ever written, for some reason I feel like rambling tonight...
It was such a great day to be outside today. My friend Debbie from Newark came out to have lunch with me today. The food was good the company was great and the walk outside was refreshing. I didn't get much time outside, but I had enough time to enjoy it. I keep thinking about your brother. I hope all is well with him.
