We've had a rough beginning to our week, two sick boys. Dr. Hua said it's the stomach flu and would last 3-5 days. Luckily, they seemed to have the 24 hour variety instead. Monday was just disgusting, I'll keep the details to myself. Today was a ton better. Now we have cabin fever. We'll see how tomorrow goes.
The real excitement has been Trey Ryan taking his first steps. He'll walk from one person to another all on his own. It's fun to watch, especially when Riley tries to help him. We were beginning to think he was going to crawl forever, but he's decided to try out being a big boy. Riley has started to perform for us. I think it's his cousin McKenna's influence on him. Today we got quite a performance with him standing on his art table singing into his Wiggles microphone. Eric's been home the last two days. He called off work on Monday because things were so out of control gross around here. He's been amazing. He's helped so much with cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc...Somehow the two of us have managed to avoid whatever the kids have. From looking at my dry, bleeding hands it's probably because of excessive hand washing and sanitizing. Tomorrow he goes back to work and I'm going to miss him.
Tonight I started reading Peculiar People. It's hard reading for me because it's not the type of book I usually read, but I've already learned a lot of interesting things. I also spent some time in my Bible tonight which hadn't happened in a really long time. Riley had a little trouble going to bed tonight so I was forced to find something to do in my room instead of making myself busy cleaning or working like I usually do after they are in bed. I had trouble settling my mind at first to read, but was very glad I did once I got started.
