I have consumed more food in the last 24 hours than should be consumed in an entire week. Last night I ate until I was sick at BD's Mongolian Barbecue. Tonight I ate even more at Buca di Beppo. I had a great time both nights, what a beautiful weekend. Last night I had the privilege of watching as Mike asked Lianne to be his wife. The arena district looked awesome covered in giant white snowflakes. Tonight we feasted with my family. All eleven of us! We also had our new friends Mark and Kelly over for brunch this morning which was more good food with more good people. They are Curtis' friends who now live in Grandview and I'm looking forward to spending more time with them.
The weekend also included a trip to Canton on Friday to spend some time with Eric's family. Eric's mom recently had surgery on her hand and foot. She's been pretty much stuck in the house so we thought the kids would give her some exciting company for the day. They might have been a little too much fun for her. I'm sure she was in some pain when we left that night. It was a really nice day and a relaxing start to our weekend.
And now a new week begins. A busy week at the Stetler house. A difficult day approaches. My brother has a really good perspective on the entire situation. He's been meeting people at AA who have much more difficult circumstances to deal with than he does. AA has been very good for him. He's been telling me a lot of really important stuff that he's learning about spirituality and about himself. I know many families right now that are facing much more difficult days than my family is facing. It's good to keep it all in perspective, not that any of us are looking forward to Friday.
Good night.
