I just got off the phone with my best friend from middle school and high school, Marlo. We were roomates our freshman year of college and things didn't go so well. I can't really explain what happened but we went drastically different ways and for some reason it was painful and ugly. We were best of friends, like sisters, and I've had a lot of regrets over the years about how I handled the end of our friendship. A few years ago I made an attempt to initiate a relationship with her again and felt like she shut me down. After a couple of attempts I gave up and it was painful all over again. But then I started to hear that she was living in the Grandview area. Eric even ran into her in Starbucks. I couldn't get her off my mind and really felt like it was important for me to try again. This time the risk seems to have paid off. We talked last week for a few minutes, tonight for an hour, and we're getting together after Thanksgiving.
We had a good weekend with Eric's family. It was very relaxing and a nice break. The boys had a great time too. We got home just in time for Vespers. There is no where else I would have rather been. And now I'm waiting on Jen, who was supposed to be home quite awhile ago so we can watch the Extreme Home Makeover episode we taped during Vespers. I hope she's okay...

CONFESSION:
I had a huge crush on Marlo back in the day.
I have never talked to her in my life. Funny memory.
