okay, so Alum Creek is hardly a beach. But, there's sand and water and Riley calls it the beach. He'll see the real ocean in a few weeks and may never be satisfied with Alum Creek again. We had a great time. It's a much bigger ordeal with two kids than it was with just one. Good news is that Riley was a little fish with his new floaties. The swim lessons this winter that were way too expensive are paying off. Bad news is that Trey freaked out even when we put his toe in the water. We have two water vacations (the cottage and the beach) planned in August and Trey hates the water. It was great to spend the day with Eric and the boys. Good family time. The other bad news is that I'm stupid. I've lived through 27 summers now, and each summer I get sun burned. For those of you who don't know me well, we're talking serious sun burn (sun poisoning, trips to the ER, etc.). I'm stupid because I didn't put on sunscreen and my back is in extreme pain right now. I really don't know why I didn't put on sunscreen...

I'm thinking through a lot right now about children and house church. I wanted to talk some about it tonight at church but there were a lot of other things to discuss. I started thinking about it today when our neighbor Luis was over to play before we left for church. I think I want to process my thoughts more before I blog about them. I'm hanging out with Sharon tomorrow and Amy Smith on Thursday, maybe they'll have some insight.
