Just tried to add birthday pictures to this blog but I keep getting an error message.

Our one year old is walking all over the house! In the week since she turned one she has learned to go down the stairs, she has started to wean herself from nursing, she has started drinking large amounts from her sippy cup, and has become a very steady walker! I went to pick her up from the nursery at church today and there she was, sitting with all the kids in her own big girl chair at the snack table, eating her snack and drinking her juice. She looked so big!

We've spent a bit of time talking with the kids about the season of Lent this week. Evan's comments needed to be documented somewhere. After our conversation Evan asked, "Mommy, when God talks to you do you really hear His voice?". I tried to explain that God can speak to us in our hearts. He paused a moment and said very seriously, "In my heart I feel like God is telling me to give something up for Lent." Eric and I waited for his next words, wondering if our youngest son might be a little prophet. Then he said, "He's telling me to give up those old candy canes in the pantry." Yep, the ones he's never eaten. This was the same day he explained to a little girl in his preschool that there are actually three Gods..."God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit." Hmmm...three Gods.

Brackets are filled out already at our house. Let the Madness begin. It's the most wonderful time of the year! Overall #1 seed...awesome.

Kids are funny. During our conversations with the boys about Lent, I asked them if there was anything they valued that would like to give up for Lent, Ethan really looked like he was thinking and then said "I think I am going to give up school"
