Last night we received a phone call from the potential buyer of our home in Columbus. He was calling to tell us that they were signing a contract on their home and would be ready to close on our home on November 30th. Needless to say...we were incredibly excited.

This afternoon he called back. His buyer backed out.

The disappointment was overwhelming. Fear attacked, followed by panic.

Sunday our offertory was "It is Well" and the words "whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, it is well, it is well, with my soul" played through my mind during communion and have been with me throughout this week.

I sang this hymn here alone in my house this afternoon. Fear and panic were replaced by a strange quiet calm. The peace that begin to fill my heart and our home was remarkable. It shouldn't really surprise me. I've been following Jesus for awhile now and the gift He gives us in His peace is always remarkable and saved for the exact moment when we desperately need it.

I don't know what tomorrow will bring. But, that's okay. I really mean that...it's okay.
