We have now lived in Gambier for a year, we moved here last Memorial Day weekend. It's been a good year, a busy year. It's a lot of work getting in settled in a new town and a new home.

Here's a list of 10 things I miss from Columbus, in random order:

1. Target

2. COSI, the Columbus Zoo and the Franklin Park Conservatory memberships

3. Chick Fil A

4. Bible lessons with the Meyer's family, and sharing life with them daily

5. A short drive to my parents and grandma's house

6. Central Air

7. Parks and playgrounds that my kids have loved since they were babies

8. Dr. Sant

9. Jen's company and grown up conversations when I'm hauling my four kids around town

10. A master bedroom with a connected master bathroom


10 Things I love about life in Gambier, also in random order:

1. Quiet

2. Land and space to roam, run, and play

3. Wiggin Street Elementary School

4. Our home

5. First Presbyterian Church

6. Middle Ground cafe and the Village Inn restaurant

7. The bike trail and hiking trails that surround our home

8. My kids have a tree house

9. Watching wild life from our windows

10. The life our family is building together

When we look at our house and our property there is so much we want to do. At the same time, we've gotten so much accomplished in our first year here. There are times when we miss the conveniences of life in Columbus and we obviously miss our family and friends, but we are so happy here and so thankful for all we have here in Gambier. We're look forward to many, many more years here in Gambier.
