Life has been eventful lately. After a very busy, but fun Easter weekend we received a phone call that Eric's grandfather, Maureen's dad, had passed away. Eric has been grieving this week for a man that I think he wishes he knew better and we've both been worried about his mom. On Thursday morning we received a phone call that my grandma was being taken to the hospital. Later that night we learned that she had suffered a massive heart attack. So, Eric left Friday afternoon with the three boys for Buffalo so he could be at his grandfather's funeral and I left Friday morning for Columbus with Cora to be with my grandma. They placed three stents in Grandma and she is now recovering at the hospital. To say the least, we are very thankful that she is alive. She's is doing much better than I anticipated and we're hopeful she'll be able to return home later this week.

2011 has been a little more "eventful" than I would like so far and I'm hoping for a calmer second half of the year. In the midst of the 2011 chaos I've been determined to continue training for the half marathon. We are now less than a week away for the big race. There's a lot more I want to write about this process, but for now I'll just say that I ran 10 miles today alone and it was pretty amazing.

I'm thankful to be home tonight, I love my house. I love that after living here a year I still feel like it's a vacation home that we're just lucky enough to get to live in permanently. I'm also thankful for my parents and the time I was able to spend with them this weekend in spite of the difficult circumstances. They are so supportive of me and I just like hanging out with them. I'm thankful for the dogwood tree that's blooming outside. I'm thankful my grandma is still with us. I'm thankful that my husband will be home soon with our boys.
