It's only December 2nd and we've already had our first pretty snowfall. It's absolutely beautiful to look back at the woods covered in our first bit of snow. I can only imagine how it will all look after a big snowfall. I love our house. It's so warm and cozy in this cold weather. The wood burner creates such a nice even heat in the house. The Christmas decorations are up and all I want to do once darkness falls is snuggle up with my kids under quilts in the living room.

On Wednesday and Thursday nights Eric has to work late so I'm home alone with the four of them. We have developed our own routine that makes the nights without daddy a little more pleasant. After dinner the kids put on their pjs and are expected to clean their room, the living room, their sister's room, and the kitchen. They do it without complaining. I'd like to think that they are simply motivated by the fact that they are making their mom happy...truthfully, they are motivated by the promise of iCarly. If everything is done by 7pm and has been inspected by mom they are allowed to watch iCarly before bed. Tonight they were completely finished by 6:30. So, we all grabbed a book and a blanket and read quietly to ourselves for the last half hour. I sat watching by boys read, holding my baby girl and I was a little overwhelmed by how much I love these little people.

Flannel jammies, cinnamon in my coffee, soup for dinner, and an extra down blanket on my bed...it's winter here in the country and I'm loving it.
