We celebrated Thanksgiving with my family yesterday. It was a very nice, relaxing day. First we ate too much watching the Buckeyes beat Michigan, and then followed it up with a Thanksgiving feast at dinner. We're all a little sick this morning!
It was Trey's idea to go around the table and give everyone a chance to say what they are thankful for this year. He made sure everyone had a turn. My two youngest boys listed off each of their family members sitting at the table one at a time. Riley felt it was important to add his new Jordans that papaw had just bought him for his basketball season. Austin was thankful for Elmo, my nephew lives for Elmo.
I'm so thankful for my family. I sat watching my grandma at dinner, thinking how hard each holiday still must be for her without my grandpa. That man LOVED the holidays. I'm just thankful that my grandma is part of my life and my kids lives. Four generations that are still able to share a meal together regularly, what a gift.
We will leave early Wednesday morning for Canal Fulton. Sadly, we have had to cancel our trip to Myrtle Beach because of several issues Eric's grandparents are dealing with right now. We wish so much that they could be with us this week and we are hoping they are able to settle in Ohio permanently soon. For this first time in many years we will be spending Thanksgiving day with Eric's parents, siblings, and their families. It will be so much fun to have everyone together!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
