Just had the BIG talk with Riley...the Santa talk. I knew the day would come. He came to me in the kitchen this morning and asked if Santa was real or if I really buy the presents. He's eight years old now and I decided to tell him the truth. He was sworn to secrecy so that his little brothers can still have a few years of believing. I think he knew already that it wasn't real, he just wanted to hear it from me. We talked about St. Nicholas, the actual saint, and about the fable of Santa. We talked about the joy of giving and the true spirit of Christmas. He's a sweet boy.
We're getting ready to leave for Clintonville Market. All five of us can go together today, which hasn't happened in a long time. I'm really looking forward to it. This market season has been really scattered for us with morning sickness, business travel, and all those other things that pop up and make weekends busy. Just a bit of information...outdoor market runs through October 31st. Then there will be two special pre-Thanksgiving markets, one in Clintonville (outside) and one in Worthington (inside). There will be another indoor Worthington market on December 12th and then indoor market will begin every Saturday in January. To fill in the blanks, we will probably be heading to the North Market for a lot of our shopping. Another quick note, I know there are a lot of mixed feelings out there about Whole Foods and the way they work with local farmers. However, they are carrying a ton more local foods now, especially in the cheese and meat departments. You'll also find more local items when you browse the aisles like jam and spaghetti sauce. Buying these products is a good way to encourage them to support our local farmers more regularly.
That's about it I guess. 18 1/2 weeks into this pregnancy now. Things seems to be going well.
