We're just about finished with our first week at the beach. Another week of relaxation is still ahead of me. It's been so nice to just rest. Yes, the boys can still be a handful at times, in fact this morning was beyond rough. But, for the most part life is just simple and easy here. If you know me at all, you know I LOVE the ocean. I love every part of it...the smell, the sand, the wind, the sound of the waves. I think I see God a little more clearly here. It's a good place to come after you lose a loved one.
Highlights from week one...
An hour on the beach, BY MYSELF!
The delicacies of the south--Cheerwine, turtle fudge, and hushpuppies
Watching the boys chase a crab
Fresh fish for dinner
Trey's little butt crack constantly peeking out of the back of his trunks
Evan in sun glasses saying "I cool" and "pea (peace) out"
And now Eric is here. He flew in this morning and will be here with us until early Tuesday morning. The boys were so excited to see their daddy. The older two have immediately taken him to the ocean to jump waves while I wait here for Evan to finish his nap. I won't take them out far, and their papaw can't this year after last year's very scary injury. So, they've been waiting for daddy to get here so they can be a little more adventurous. Evan should be up soon so I better get on my swim suit!
Thank you all for your prayers for our family over the last few weeks. We really appreciate all of the kind notes, emails, and phone calls we have received since my grandfather passed away. Also, check out the adoption blog for some news. We're moving forward, slowly but surely!
What a fun time! I LOVE the ocean!!! Wish I were there! I loved your list of loves for being there too. . sounds like mine.
