It's still February. February and March have always been a struggle for me because I get so tired of winter. All this snow...three snow days in two weeks. But, nothing can cure my late winter blues like sitting back with my handsome husband and watching our little guys love all over each other. It seems like we've hit this really great phase with our boys right now. They enjoy playing together and rarely fight. At the same time, they are each so independent and play well on their own. Even Evan is playing so well by himself on the mornings that both of his brothers are at school. Tonight they just ran around the house laughing and playing. It was one of those nights you try to carve into your memory because you know how easy it is to forget. Nothing special or especially exciting happened, they were just so happy to be together and we were so happy to be with them.

And here's the update on each of the boys for the great grandparents in SC that we don't get much this time of year...

Riley continues to do great in kindergarten. I tutor in his classroom on Thursday afternoons and I love watching him interact with his teacher and his friends. It so much fun to watch him learn to read. He's a great helper at home, especially with Evan. He had his last basketball game today. He had a lot of fun playing on his first basketball team. His brain never stops, he asks a lot of questions. He's really trying to figure out how the world works.

Trey in also doing great in preschool. He is making friends and really enjoys his teacher, Ms. Eileena. He's very funny...for instance this week he said, "Mommy, the Easter Rabbit could be called the Easter Rabbit, the Easter Bunny, or the Easter Hare." I could tell by the way he told me that he had been thinking about that for quite awhile now and he was really proud that he had thought of all the possibilities. He loves using his hands to create. He loves art projects and trying write letters like Riley. He insists on having homework time like Riley, and his teachers were so nice to make him his own little homework book.

Evan is so much fun right now. Thank goodness he has gotten past his nasty phase. No more head banging, hitting, or throwing things at mommy. He is extremely pleasant and happy now. He lives to entertain us. He loves to dance, especially if he's naked. He is completely obsessed with the Wiggles, more than either of his brothers ever were. He loves to read and will occupy himself for quite some time in his room with his books. Our biggest challenges with him right now are getting him to sit in his booster while he eats (yes, we already caved and let him out of the high chair...big mistake) and getting rid of the pacifier. We are determined to begin slowly working on it this week.

So, that was for you GG and Grandma Jan. Hope the weather is warmer in SC than it is here!
