It's been a really nice week. I can't explain how much I enjoy getting settled back into a normal schedule and routine after the holidays. I love the holidays, but I'm always ready for it to be over too. Riley and Trey went back to school this week, which gave me some good time with just Evan. I've also really loved my time with Trey this week during Evan's naps. Trey has no interest in videos or tv and just wants time alone with me while Evan is sleeping. I'm trying to soak it all up now. I'm sure the day will come when I'm not on the top of his list of favorite people to hang out with. Today during nap we have been busy preparing for our big party tonight. I discovered a couple of winters ago that parties were the best trick I had for surviving Ohio winters. I've learned it really doesn't have to be anything spectacular. All I have to do is say we're having a big party and their little eyes light up. Tonight's party agenda includes two new games they got for Christmas, chocolate chip muffins, popcorn, and hot chocolate. The big treat is that they get to stay up later than Evan.

Riley had his first basketball game last night. He was so excited. It was so cute and much more entertaining than t-ball. He asked me more times than I can count this week if I had bought my ticket for his game yet. He is growing so quickly and has changed so much this school year. It's so much fun watching him learn to read.

Last night we wrote a letter to the Liberian government that will be included in our dossier. In it I wrote, "Each day we are filled with gratitude for the joy that we find in our children..." Yes, they can be frustrating at times, but they are such a gift.
