I knew it would happen eventually. Today I drove Riley to school, we parked and walked up to the building like we do every day. But today he looked up at me and said,"You can just leave me here, mommy." He must have been able to hear a little bit of saddness in my "okay" because he followed it up with, "You can still give me a hug and a kiss." I tried to quickly put on my best I'm so proud of you face and send him on in to school with a few last minute instructions. He's very independent right now, and I really am very proud of him. But, I'm still so thankful that he wants to crawl in my bed in the morning in his fuzzy pj's and hang out for a few minutes before he starts to get ready for the day.

Here's a picture of my boys that Jen took this weekend. They spent most of the weekend with her while Eric and I went to Cedar Point. The tickets and the child care were Jen's birthday present to me. It was a great gift, and as you can tell in the picture, the boys had a great time too! I think that is the official end to my 30th birthday celebration. I really stretched this one out!
