Time to get busy packing. I have lists all over the house. It feels like a huge task to get myself and the kids ready for two weeks away from home. I'm nervous about the drive, 12 hours in the van. We'll stop after 8 hours on the first day. The radio in the van doesn't work and we don't have a CD player, so today I'm planning on loading my shuffle with Riley and Trey's favorite music...
Dan Zanes
Bear Tunes for Kids
Beastie Boys
Bob Dylan
Johnny Cash
Gaither Vocal Band
Ben Harper (okay, that one is for me)
It's a long drive down 77, hopefully this will keep us occupied.
We dived head first into potty training Trey. It really is not fun at all. Last week he started taking off his diaper so we decided it was time to get serious about it. Probably really bad timing with vacation coming up. We have a beautiful "potty chart" hanging on the dining room wall. Eric designed it himself on Saturday morning. It's not working very well, everything that worked with Riley doesn't work with Trey.
Wow, that's a long drive--where are you going? We traveled so much this summer so I really feel for you.
I think I'm diving into potty training this week too. I waited too long with Jake and he just started catching on at 3 1/2. So I'm starting Rory now cuz she's turning 2 next week, and they say girls are easier anyway...

The beastie boys and the gaither vocal band - what a combination! Hope you have a great time away.
