Rough day...Riley is a challenge right now. I'm really hoping this phase ends soon. I'm trying so hard to be consistent as I discipline him, hoping that will help the temper tantrums to end soon. At the same time, he's growing into such a special little man. He loves his brothers and tries so hard to help me out with them. Today after he settled down from one giant temper tantrum I went to his room to talk with him about everything. We were laying in his bed hugging and he whispered in my ear, "Mommy, you're so fun to love."
We're using the Kushies. It's going fine, but taking the time to wash out cloth diapers is a bit of a challenge when you are chasing three children. But, I'm learning how to make it work for us.
Trey decided last night he was ready to use the potty. Big news around here. He peed and earned himself a trip to Geni's for ice cream with the whole family plus Jen, Kelly, and Kyle. We have a long way to go, but at least he's interested now. We're in a bit of a rush because we are planning on starting him at Riley's preschool for two mornings a week in the fall. He's really excited about going to school, so hopefully that will help motivate him now that he's started. Plus, he loves his "big boy" underware. Between potty training Trey and cloth diapers on Evan, I feel like all I do right now is clean up pee and poop.
Evan is a sweetie. He's sleeping well at night, thank goodness. He's already growing so quickly. He's smiling, although some people would say he's to young to be smiling. I disagree, he's defintely been grinning at me today.
Eric and I are doing well. It's been an incredibly difficult time for us lately, but I think we're learning how to cling to one another during these times. I'm confident will make it through this chapter of uncertainty because we have each other, our community, and our faith. We really have no idea what God has in store for us over the next few months, but I know that He has never failed us.
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength,
They shall mount up with wings as eagles.
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Teach me Lord, teach me Lord, to wait.
I'm exhausted and ready for bed.
I really hope you know that you have your family too! We love you.

So good to hear what's happening. Praying for you all.
We had a potty training discussion tonight. The most unusual (and successful) tip: Receiving a call from a special friend, like Winne the Pooh or Shrek or whoever floats your child's boat. The "friend" calls to say they heard so and so was doing a good job using the potty, etc. I know it's corny, but hey...

Good luck with the potty training! Gavin has good days and not so good days. In just comes down to the fact that he's just too busy to stop playing and go to the potty sometimes. I guess he chooses convenience over comfort sometimes. :)
