When I was about four years old my dad went to Dallas for furniture market. He came home with a pink shirt and skirt with white stars all over it. At four years old I thought it was the most beautiful outfit I had ever seen. I was certain that the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders had something just like this in their closets. Daddy knew to come home with a gift, it made the time away a little easier for me to handle. My dad's had to go to market at least twice a year for as long as I can remember. My mom's had to go with him often as well. And now my brother and Eric have joined the business, and I'm feeling a little abandoned! My mom, my dad, and my brother left for market yesterday. Eric will join them in the glamorous metropolis of Highpoint, NC on Tuesday. Maybe one of them will bring home a nice little gift to make the time away easier to handle!
By bedtime tonight I was running on empty. Then I snuggled with two special little boys, all three of us in the top bunk. I listened as the boys discussed some things in "If You Take a Mouse to School" that they didn't quite understand. They were so serious, so cute. They cleared up the confusion all on their own. They seem to be changing so much right now, growing so much each day that I often find myself just staring at them in disbelief.
Evan will be with us in a few short weeks and on Saturday the girls from LP helped us stock up on the baby essentials we will need when he arrives. We have a great start on diapers, wipes, baby shampoo and other baby essentials. They treated me to lunch at Bon Vie and everyone brought such thoughtful and special gifts. That they took the time on a busy Saturday to honor our family in such a beautiful way meant more to me than I can really explain.
i'm excited to see evan's face
