27 weeks...
How your baby's growing: Your baby is really starting to fill up your uterus. This week he weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14.4 inches long with his legs extended. He can now open and close his eyes, and he sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. He may suck his fingers, and although his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with assistance — if he were to be born prematurely. Chalk up any rhythmic movement you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and isn't bothersome to him, so enjoy the tickle. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. Wonder what he's thinking?
Feeling calm and peaceful this morning--probably because we all slept well last night for the first time in quite some time. Encouraging news from the hospital yesterday as well regarding Mark.
We bought a car yesterday. Very strange to be a two car family again. We had gone two years with one car. But, Eric's job situation will be changing soon and a car will be a necessity. Normally it is very stressful for me to spend that kind of money, but I had a real peace about this purchase when Eric brought the car home for me to drive. We've been shopping for awhile now and I think it was a wise choice for a lot of different reasons.
The third trimester begins this week, the final stretch. With Riley it was the most difficult time, with Trey the easiest part of my pregnancy.
Eddie and I got our second car this summer after a year of having only one. It was a very strange feeling having access to a car anytime I wanted again:)
Enjoy
Emily
