Dr. appt. this morning. Today was the day for the O'Sullivan test. The drink was actually better this time, a new flavor, fruit punch. However, the sick feeling afterwards was still there. Hopefully the results come back okay. With Riley I had to repeat it. Luckily, my husband let me lay down when I got home. He cancelled his plans for the day and gave the kids a bath, lunch, and took them to the park.
Is there a time in woman's life when the pictures in a magazine accurately reflect the life stage you are in? As a teenager it was Seventeen or YM lying to me, a college student, Cosmo. You would think that of all the times you could find some reality in a magazine it would be during pregnancy. Today while waiting for Dr. Russ I started flipping through a copy of Pregnancy magazine. It was the February issue and maternity lingere was the cover story. Funny, none of these women had legs covered in nasty veins and bruises. No stretch marks, pimples, cellulite. Beautiful women with tiny bellies, tan legs, and flawless makeup and hair. I saw these images right after my weigh in, and for the first time in three pregnancies I had gained too much weight between appointments. Just what I wanted to see right then. Dr. Russ wasn't really upset by my weight, in fact, he tried to make me feel better. But, it's time to stop using the baby as an excuse to eat anything in my path.
Nothing else to exciting. He checked out my vein issues. Unfortunately, not much can be done except buying more contraptions to squeeze my body into with the hope that it might help. I need to lay down as much as possible, which is a rather funny thought with my boys. He thinks there's no way I'll be able to avoid surgery on my legs after the baby. We'll see...
HI Kerri~ Love your blog! I feel envious and compassionate about your pregnancy all at the same time. (I'm DONE having babies...but will always have the desire to have more). I have a 28 year old sister who had lots of problems with veins during her pregnancies too. (all 4) I didn't get a chance to read all of your entries. Looks like you have done a great job keeping up. I'll try and read as time allows. Thanks for sharing your blog!

My girls were born in the dark ages and I don't even know what the O'Sullivan test is - so please share more with us oldsters! :)
Found out this week that you guys know our new pastor and his family. What an awesome leader God has sent us!
Ignore the pictures in magazines - you recognize you have a cute hubby and he knows he has a beautiful woman by his side - so the rest of that glitzy show doesn't matter.
Love you - hang in there! - MA B
