Yesterday I realized that in all of our holiday planning Eric and I had neglected to plan a night out together to celebrate. This is always our gift to each other for Christmas. We learned a long time ago that we don't do that well buying gifts for each other, so we plan a night out instead. With some quick planning and the help of Eric's mom we were able to go out together tonight. Dinner at Basi. Very good food, quiet romantic atmosphere. Then we finally went to see Walk the Line. It's not often that a movie comes out we both want to see, we weren't disappointed, it was excellent.

It's been a good week. An OSU game with my mom, Riley's preschool's Christmas program, a date with my husband--and tomorrow is little man's birthday. Trey will be two. Two years ago I was laying in Grant Hospital wondering how they were going to get this kid out of me. Now I wonder how I'm ever going to be able to keep up with him. He's constant motion and energy. He loves to make us laugh and to irritate his brother. His smile lights up a room and there is nothing better than his tight hugs. We're trying to explain to him that he's becoming a big boy, he insists he's still mommy's baby. He loves to read, he loves when his brother "reads" to him. Tomorrow we'll celebrate Trey with a Thomas the Train party at Nana's house.

Yesterday marked 14 weeks...
How your baby's growing: Head to bottom, your baby's 3 1/2 inches long — about the length of a lemon — and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. Her body's growing faster than her head, which now sits upon a more well-defined neck. By the end of this week, her arms will have lengthened and will be in proportion to the rest of her body. (Her legs still have some growing to do, though.) She's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair all over her body (called lanugo). Her liver starts secreting bile this week, a sign that it's already functioning properly, and her spleen starts contributing to the production of red blood cells. She's also producing and discharging urine into the amniotic fluid, a normal process that she'll keep up until birth. You still can't feel your baby's movements, but her hands and feet (which are now half an inch long) are more flexible and active. Thanks to brain impulses, her little facial muscles are getting a workout as she squints, frowns, and grimaces. She can grasp now, too, and she may be able to suck her thumb.

What a precious Christmas picture you sent! M looked at Riley and said "Look at Eric!"

Also, no one can read your developmental quotes and not know that is a precious BABY. Tissue blobs don't have functional livers!!! :)

I like how your book calls her a she! Still praying!
