It's been ten days since my last doctor's appointment. Ten days since Dr. Russ told me it was time to go and buy support hose to wear. I had to wear these when I was pregnant with Trey, but not this early in the pregnancy. In fact, I started having trouble with my left leg two months earlier with this pregnancy than the problems started with Trey. Basically my legs turn black and blue, my veins get huge, and they are extremely sore, even sore to the touch. This morning in the shower I winced in pain while washing the back of my leg. After taking a look in the mirror I realized that I can't put it off any longer. I'm headed to the Motherhood store today for some support hose. This will add a good 10 minutes to getting dressed every morning. These things are not easy to get on, but they do help. At least it's winter.
And, today starts Week 15:
Fetal Development:
![]() | If you have an ultrasound now, you may notice your baby sucking his/her thumb. The bones are getting harder each day. The baby's skin is very thin and transparent; you can see blood vessels through the skin. Lanugo, a very fine hair, covers the body and will continue growing on the baby until around the 26th gestational week of pregnancy. |
the support hose alone is birth control for me! i'm so sorry you're having to wear them already. i don't envy you one bit right now!
