Last night we decided to spend the night at my parents house and now we're up early and all ready for Thanksgiving. I can't wait for the parade to start. It's been a good holiday week already, a good week of celebrating with friends and family.
My friend Ellen and I decided it was time to start celebrating on Monday night. We went out and both ate too much. I paid for it all night, so sick. It was worth it though, we had a great night and it's been exciting for me to spend time with new friends in my neighborhood. I've known Ellen for over a year now, but this is the first time we've spent time together without other people. She makes me laugh, a lot.
Tuesday night was the first Thanksgiving of the week. A beautiful time with our community at Mike and Lianne's. Family-in every sense of the word. What a gift for my children to be surrounded by so many incredible people. Riley had a great time playing with Micah and Nora. Trey had a great time chasing the cat.
Yesterday we celebrated with Jen, breakfast at Northstar before she left for NY to spend Thanksgiving with her family. We miss her this Thanksgiving, it seems a little strange that she's not here, but at the same time I know she is where she is supposed to be. We also got our tree yesterday!!!!!
And now, Thanksgiving with mom, dad, pup, grandma, and grandpa. We'll watch the parade, cook a ton of food, eat a ton of food, build a gingerbread house, and put up mom's tree.
A good week. Happy Thanksgiving!
