The Stetler household has started a new morning routine. I came to the conclusion yesterday that I have to start my day before the kids. I've known this for awhile now, but haven't had the discipline to actually do it. Yesterday at 10:20 am both kids were still in their pj's and breakfast dishes were still on the table. It took that long into the day for Eric and I to both get our exercise in and take showers. Not good. I decided that I am now willing to sacrifice sleep for a better start to our day. This is a big deal for us, because we both really, really like to sleep.
This morning we were up at 5:15, morning prayers with Jen at 5:20. Then I left to exercise by 5:50. It felt good, really good. I really enjoyed walking while Grandview was waking up. It was so peaceful. So, we'll see how it goes. Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. We'll see about the wealthy part of that. I'm going to try and write an order at a furniture store in Columbus today!
Fall is here--the pumpkin patch with Riley's school tomorrow and with Nana on Saturday night!

Good for you. I reached a point when the girls were small that if I didn't get up with Mark - before he left at 6:20 - and have devotions with him at 6 a.m.- I never got around to that either. I hope you can build the habit of beating the boys out of bed.
I think the wealth of healthy, wealthy, and wise, comes from needing less medical care!!! :) not real wealth.
Guess what??? Dan and Erin Slayton are expecting triplets. They were a young couple in our church who knew Scott and Kim and gave us their name to interview 10+ years ago and they have been trying forever. Pray for her!

You sent me an email at 5.29am.
I just thought you should know that. :-)
I think it's totally awesome you're getting up before the boys and starting your day off with prayer and excercise. I started the same routine myself, a few weeks ago. (Hasn't that always been the case with us? Weird parallels in our lives?) Anyway, lucky for me, I don't start my day until about 6.15am. I get up, put on some work out clothes and head to the gym while James and Halle are still tucked snuggly in bed. I get home around 7.30am and try to get at least one cup of coffee in me and some good scripture time before Halle wakes up.
I've decided both coffee and scripture make me a better mom.
