We're home...four days early. We woke up Tuesday morning to find out that there was a mandatory evacuation for our island. I had been telling myself that if this happened I wouldn't get upset. I had a nice house to return to where I would be safe and happy...think of all of those people who were evacuated from New Orleans with nothing to return to...Instead I got pretty fussy and said more times than I can count "this really sucks." We quickly threw everything into suitcases, threw out a ton of perfectly good food, and headed back to Ohio. I have nothing to complain about, we had a great time--a lot of sun, a lot of sand, good restaurants, some putt-putt, and even a date with my husband before Ophelia invaded. Mom and Dad, thanks so much for an incredible trip with a ton a great memories!
Now we're home, ready to start the fall. I love fall--especially October. I think it's my favorite month of the year. Riley starts back to school on Friday and he's so excited. It's good to be back in Columbus.
October is hands-down my favorite... so looking forward to it. Think of coming home from vacation as a chance not to feel post-vacation blahs while returning to routine. A small consolation, maybe? :) Glad you had a great time!

i'm sorry you had to come home early, but its good to know you're all back here safe and sound. if i was with you i'd be griping about having to leave early too, its alright. but you're right, you are lucky and it's good that you realize that. can't wait to see you, you'll be all tan for the weddings later this month!
