Jen and I just watched the Extreme Home Makeover we taped on Sunday night. It was by far the saddest one I've ever seen. My eyes are swollen, my contacts are covered with salt from my tears. A mother of three boys under age three dies at age 29 from cancer. The team remodels the home they bought together, the home where they wanted to raise their children. The husband was never able to remodel it because all of their savings were used for medical bills. A little too close to home for a lot of different reasons.
Riley had a play date with a little boy from his class this morning. He wouldn't stay without me, so I hung out with his friend's mom for two hours. It was exactly what I needed. She is a believer and I was able to share some of our journey with her. She was a huge encouragement. We have a lot in common, except for the fact that she is incredibly wealthy! Riley thinks he spent the morning at Disney World. Two motorized John Deere trucks--a gator and a tractor. He didn't even know this stuff exsisted. I told him maybe Carter can come play at our house next time, he looked at me like I was crazy!
I think it's a little funny that this blog is considered an online "journal." Much to say that I would never post for others to read. I think I'm going to start writing in a real journal too.
A few little side notes...Baby Smith and Baby Peterson will be here soon. very exciting.
Two weeks from today I'm going to Cedar Point...yipee!
My brother is going with me, better yet!!
good night.
