We said we would drive the Previa until the wheels fell off...today a wheel fell off. I nailed a jeep at the corner of Edgehill and Third. The Previa is now missing a wheel and a window. We don't have collision insurance and I'm almost positive the costs of the repair will be higher than the value of the van. So, most likely the van will be headed to the junk yard and we will be trying to find a vehicle we can afford. Mark and Marie, my sincerest apologies. You sold us a van in mint condition, a beautiful machine was placed in our care. We loved our Previa, it carried both of our babies home from the hospital.
shit...
now that I have that out of my system, it's time to list all of the things I am thankful for...

1. CARSEATS!!! both of my babies are safe and in bed tonight, unharmed. They were really upset and scared when it happened. But they were happy and healthy tonight as I watched them run and play at the McDonald's playground.

2. SEATBELTS!!! I am safe and unharmed.

3. Inside the jeep I hit was a very kind man who was also unharmed. The first thing he did was give me a hug. He just kept saying, "Things like this happen, it's okay." He was much more concerned about my boys than his very nice jeep.

4. The Grandview medics were amazing with Riley and Trey. They played with them in the ambulance while I filled out paperwork. They too were so kind and made the whole experience much easier to handle.

5. My parents. I don't know where to begin. Between me and my brother my parents seem to jump from one emergency to the next. They came to pick up the three of us and took us back to their house. I am so glad we live in the same city.

6. My husband. He reassured me that the van is nothing more than a piece of metal and that all that really matters is that we are all safe. He's right. These are recent emails I've received from Bowling Green regarding the Fleming family:

Dear Friends,

First the Praise!!! Are you ready? Amanda Fleming is home from rehab therapy!! What a huge praise! AND Aaron is also home from pediatric rehab in Ann Arbor!! Peter finally has them in one place. He had to do some reconstruction in the bathroom to make room for Amanda's wheelchair to maneuver and they are both continuing therapy but what a blessing it must be to not have to choose whether you are going to drive to Ann Arbor to visit your son or drive to Perrysburg to visit your wife. I am sure they would all still covet your prayers as physical healing, as well as emotional healing takes place.

From Pastor Danielle:
This Sunday there will be a Celebration of Life service held in memory of Austin Fleming at Agape Congregational Church. All are welcome to drop in from 3 pm to 6 pm. There will be light refreshments, as well as opportunities to view Austin's artwork and to read and share special memories of Austin.

Tomorrow either Eric or I will be walking Riley to school. We still have Riley and we are all still able to walk. We have so much to be thankful for.

good night.

Hello... I'm so glad to hear that you and your boys are doing well. God is wonderful isn't He!?!

I found this job through a website called getpaidtoshop.com. I'm learning the details about it... but it sounds fun!

What a story. I had a friend tell me once that his philosophy was life is either a great adventure or nothing at all. I'm not sure this is what he meant, but life certainly is a great adventure. I too am thankful that you are all ok.

Sweet Stetlers,

I am thankful you are safe - and that Toyotas are safe.

I totalled the Avalon 3 weeks ago - after 35 years without an accident or ticket I totally missed a stop sign.

I too am alive and well and thankful and believe my girls and husband still need me!

Praise God for His safety!

ps Mark and I agree with Eric
