A good day, a very good day.
My trip to the pumpkin farm with Riley's preschool was excellent. Riley loved the tractor ride, the donut, the apple cider, the whole thing. I was able to hang out with a lot of other preschool moms. Riley and I rode to the farm with Ellen and her little boy, Samer. Riley has been telling me that Samer is his best friend at school. I knew Samer was a little different, but I thought his language skills were just delayed. I learned today that Samer has quite a few difficulities and is actually being tested for autism. Riley doesn't seem to notice. He likes Samer. Why can't we stay like that as we grow older, blind to things that make others "different."
Ellen invited me to a moms group that goes out for drinks and dinner once a month in Grandview. They do service projects as well. Another mom from Riley's class organizes the group and she said she would add me to her email list. This is a real answer to prayer.
Spent a couple of hours after lunch in the back yard with Riley and Trey. During Trey's nap Riley and I had a movie date, 101 Dalmations. We cuddled under a blanket in the basement. Dinner at Old Bag of Nails with my parents and my brother, and now I'm off to cuddle under a blanket with Eric for my second movie date of the day. I'm a lucky girl.
