I had a great weekend in Pittsburgh. Becky and I had so much fun--a lot of eating, a lot of chocolate, a lot of shopping, a lot of sleeping. We're so similar it's a little scary. It's nice to have someone to talk to that is at the same life stage as you. We both have two boys and they are almost exactly the same age. We both work from home (although her job is much more demanding than mine and I don't know how she does it) and are trying to learn how to balance all that needs done at home. Most importantly, we both really needed a break. Of course I cried for a good chunk of the drive home. Once a year just isn't enough.
Trey and Riley had a great time with Nana and Papaw. Riley and Papaw went to the Gahanna Lions play and Riley is still talking about it. He missed his Papaw, so it was very good for him. Earlier that week he had prayed, "Jesus, help me get to see Papaw soon."
I got home on Sunday night just in time for Autumn Vespers at 64 King. It was an awesome time of worship as we celebrated the Creator and His creation. We spent the evening outside and it was a beautiful time.
James and Kelly were in town for a few hours last night. Good times with good friends from college. I hope we get to see them more often.
We'll be heading out of town again on Thursday and I'm really not looking forward to leaving the boys again. It's so hard for me to be away from them. But, I know the time with Eric is much needed and that it will be very good for us. He's officiating a wedding in Cincinnati on Friday night.
It's almost time to pick Riley up from preschool...
