Life is not moving at a pace I enjoy right now. We seem to move so quickly from one job or activity to the next and I can't get ahead. I never feel prepared for the next step, the next day. It's stressing me out a little right now. Usually I feel a new sense of rhythm as fall begins, but that hasn't hit yet. My goal is to get caught up on everything that seems to have fallen behind during the remainder of this week, and then hopefully start fresh on Monday. We'll see...
Riley and I headed to Boulevard Preschool on Tuesday morning. It was an orientation day and both of us were there for about an hour. He has a very nice classroom with two friendly teachers and seven other little boys and girls. I almost start crying as we hung up his back pack on the hook with his name about it. The problem started when they wanted the parents to go to one room to talk about classroom procedures while the children played in another room. Riley didn't like that idea very well. Eventually they had to bring him back to me. He wasn't the only one, they had to bring back one other little boy as well. So, tomorrow he goes by himself. I've been trying to prep him for it these last two days. He says he's not going to cry. I'm determined to give him a quick goodbye and head out of there. I know that once he gets used to the idea, preschool will be a very good thing for both of us.
Trey had a well child visit today. He will be 9 months old tomorrow. Hard to believe. He's still in the 90th percentile. 23 pounds 2 ounces, 29 1/2 inches long. Dr. Hua said he is doing great. He's a wild man. I have to invest in some good baby gates this weekend. He's started trying to climb up the stairs.
My mom and I took the boys to Easton today. New tennis shoes for me for my birthday and Riley got to play in the fountains. He had a blast of course, but I am so tired of summer. I love fall.
