Something is wrong with my brain. Now that I have had two children it no longer works as quickly and efficently as it did before. I just spent thirty minutes digging through my trash looking for paperwork I was supposed to fax to my dad's associate but accidently threw away. Luckily I found it. Earlier today I found out I made a pretty serious mistake with some other paperwork. My dad's the nicest guy in the world so he wasn't angry with me, but he had every right to be. It's been bothering me all day. I get so frustrated with myself. I'll probably dream about how I single-handedly destroyed his business tonight.
And it's not just with my work. Twice in the last month I have made it all the way to the zoo before I realized that I had not brought any food for Trey. I can't seem to get myself together. Before children I was a pretty together person. I was quite proud of my organizational skills and time management abilities. Today I made five lists and I feel no more organized at the end of the day then I did at the beginning.
On another note, Riley and I headed to Target today to finally buy the Wiggles Big Red Car he's been wanting for a year. It's his birthday this weekend and my grandma gave me money to get it for him. We have "visited" the Big Red Car often and "borrowed" while we looked around the store. Today when I went to the aisle to pick it up it was gone. As were all Wiggles toys, Dora the Explorer toys, and Thomas the Train toys. These toys had been replaced with military toys. I was told that the toy department had been restructured last night. So, I guess even the toy department at Target gets restructured when the country is at war. I have quite a bit to say about how absolutely ridiculous I think this is, but I'm so darn tired. Luckily my dad found the Big Red Car at Meijer on his business trip in Indiana.
Tomorrow I get my hair cut. That makes any tired, unorganized mom feel better.
Don't feel so bad about the memory issue. It's probably more related to stress. We all do that from time to time, and we all get it back together eventually. I'm actually suprised to hear about the toys at Target. Historically, sales of war related toys drop dramatically during real wars. Interesting...

Most of the moms I know claim their brains don't turn back on until the youngest child is 3 years old.
