Last night at about 6:15 Riley broke his elbow. He was playing at the neighbor's house. His friend's mom and I had just told them to stay off of the new bunk beds, the next thing we heard was Riley scream. Obviously they didn't obey. We spent over 4 hours at Children's Hospital. Thank goodness my parents live in Columbus. My mom stayed with Trey and my dad and I took Riley to the ER. He has a splint for the next week and then we have to go to an orthopedic surgeon to get a cast put on. He will have to have the cast on for 4-6 weeks. It makes me really sad because he was having so much fun this summer playing at the park, swimming, and all those other fun summer things. Luckily our trip to the beach isn't until the end of August, so he should be fine by then. The cast should be off by his birthday, August 9th. We'll just have to plan a lot of summer fun in August. Pray for him, he is still in a lot of pain. They recommended he take motrin or advil, but he is allergic to ibuprophen, so the best we can do is tylenol. Needless to say, I'm really ready for Eric to get home.
Poor guy... is he too young to have all his friends sign his cast?
